CareerSource Central Florida Announces the Appointment of Four New Board Members

Newly appointed leaders will guide workforce solutions initiatives to benefit Central Florida communities


Orlando, Fla. (August 30, 2022) – CareerSource Central (CSCF), Florida’s second largest regional workforce board, announced the appointment of four new members to serve on the board of directors. Appointees will serve a three-year term that will carry through June 30, 2025. These new members will bring unique skills and valuable perspectives to continue driving innovative workforce solutions to strengthen Central Florida’s talent and businesses. CareerSource Central Florida welcomes:

  • Joe Battista – Serving as the Vice President of Global, Professional and Continuing Education at Valencia College, Joe brings more than 40 years of experience to the CSCF Board. He is a valued senior-level executive with expertise in private and public organizations, and who is leading Valencia College’s student outreach and recruitment, as well as the growth and expansion of Valencia College’s international student recruiting and services division, continuing education language programs, the Centers for Accelerated Training, and the schools of Public Safety, Allied Health and Nursing.
  • Tanisha Nunn Gary, Esq. – As the President & CEO of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, Tanisha oversees and leads the chamber’s outreach efforts to enhance opportunities for members and engage partners on initiatives. She executes strategic initiatives to ensure the Chamber’s voice is included in economic, education and community conversations that impact the region.
  • Gaby Ortigoni – Gaby is the President & CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando. Gaby is a dedicated leader and champion for promoting the Hispanic community’s economic development representing more than 1 million Hispanics in the region.
  • Michelle Sperzel – Leading the charge as CEO of Harbor House of Central Florida, Michelle brings more than 20 years of experience in leadership and nonprofit work. She is focused on improving processes for survivors; starting conversations within the community around the epidemic; increasing housing on the Harbor House campus; and implementing youth programs to stem the tide of violence.

CareerSource Central Florida currently has 33 board members, including private sector leadership (at least 51%) representing five counties – Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Sumter; the remainder of the Board is comprised of representatives from local agencies and institutions as defined in Florida and Federal statutes.
