CareerSource Central Florida Receives $10,000 Grant from Westgate Resorts Foundation for Youth Employment Program

Orlando, Fla., January 7, 2020 — CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF) has been awarded a $10,000 grant by the Westgate Resorts Foundation for championing opportunities tied with strengthening families and workforce. The grant was dedicated specifically to CSCF’s Fostering Futures Summer Youth Employment Program, a workforce development program designed to fuel young adult’s career opportunities and educational growth potential.

“CareerSource Central Florida is honored to receive this grant that will be advantageous in extending youth programs that continuously help ignite the potential of our young adults in Central Florida. Our valued relationship with Westgate Resorts is grounded in our common mission of strengthening families and workforce opportunities,” said CSCF Chief Operating Officer Mimi Coenen.

Westgate Resorts partners with nonprofit organizations and recognizes grantees each year in helping build strong families and a strong workforce in every one of its resort communities.

On December 5, 2019, the Westgate Resorts Foundation proudly awarded over $1 million in grants to 41 nonprofits in Central Florida and 33 additional organizations in its resort markets across the United States. Each recipient shares a strong tie to Westgate’s mission of Strong Families, Strong Workforce with a specific emphasis on addressing the issues of homelessness, domestic violence and education.

“We believe our investment in CareerSource Central Florida directly translates into an investment in strong families, and we look forward to regular updates on the project, examples of community collaboration and stories of success,” said Westgate Resorts Chief Operating Officer Mark Waltrip.

“If families are strong and equipped to hurdle these issues, then our workforce remains strong. And a strong workforce means thriving communities,” said Waltrip. #
