CareerSource Central Florida Reopens its Osceola Career Center At the Valencia College Campus on June 24 for In-Person, By Appointment Services

Orlando, Fla. – Beginning June 24, CareerSource Central Florida’s (CSCF) Osceola County Career Center will reopen its doors to customers for in-person, by appointment only services between 10 AM to Noon and 1 PM to 4 PM Monday through Friday. The center is located on the third floor of the Careers in Industry & Technology (CIT) building on the east side of the Valencia College campus. CSCF will follow health and safety measures in alignment with the College and official state and local guidelines, ranging from daily health screenings and mask requirements for staff and customers, restriction of gatherings in common areas, following social distancing guidelines and much more.

Limited Time Left for Youth to Apply to Earn $1,000 and Discover College, Career Pathways through CareerSource Central Florida’s Summer Youth Program

Orlando, Fla., – CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF) is calling on youth, ages 15-19, to now apply to join the Explore and Accelerate tracks for its 2020 Summer Youth Program starting July 6, 2020. Explore helps youth demystify college as CSCF partners with local state and technical colleges to help prospective students explore their options and make an informed choice. With the ability to gain industry experience, build a marketable resume and begin their job search, Accelerate provides youth the power to launch their careers upon completion. In both tracks, youth gain experience that may not otherwise be available to them and can earn $1,000 wage for industry certifications in the process. Central Florida’s Unemployment Rate At 16.1% for April 2020, 3.2 Percentage Point Higher than the State

Orlando, Fla.,– The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF) region (Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Sumter counties) was 16.1% in March 2020, which was higher than the state’s rate of 12.9%. This rate was 13.3 percentage point higher than the region’s rate of 2.8% during the same timeframe last year. The labor force was 1,280,151 down 94,556 (-6.9) over the year. There were 206,381 unemployed residents in the region.

CareerSource Central Florida Reopens its Career Center Locations on June 3, Virtual Services Continue

May 29, 2020, Orlando, Fla., – As the government eases lockdown and the economy begins to rebound from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF) is reopening its doors to customers beginning June 3 for in-person, by appointment services only, between 10 AM to Noon and 1 PM to 4 PM Monday through Friday at its Seminole County, Southeast Orange County and Lake County Career Center. The Osceola County Career Center will reopen when Valencia College opens sometime this summer, and the West Orange County Career Center on Powers Drive has closed due to lease expiration. It will reopen at its new location in the West Oaks Mall in August.
