CareerSource Central Florida Reopens its West Orange County Career Center in the West Oaks Mall August 31

Orlando, Fla. – Beginning August 31, CareerSource Central Florida’s (CSCF) West Orange County Career Center will reopen its doors to customers for in-person, by appointment only services with its first week (August 31 – September 4) accommodating appointments between 12 Noon and 2PM. Starting the week after, the Career Center will resume appointment services between 10 AM to Noon and 1 PM to 4 PM Monday through Friday.

Central Florida’s Unemployment Rate At 15.1% for July 2020, 3.8 Percentage Point Higher than the State

Orlando, Fla.,– The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF) region (Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Sumter counties) was 15.1% in July 2020, which was higher than the state’s rate of 11.3%. This rate was 11.8 percentage point higher than the region’s rate of 3.3% during the same timeframe last year. The labor force was 1,384,716 down 21,624 (-1.5) over the year. There were 209,720 unemployed residents in the region.

This rate was 13.0 percentage point higher than the region’s rate of 3.3% during the same timeframe last year. The labor force was 1,334,094 down 63,084 (-4.5) over the year. There were 218,098 unemployed residents in the region.

This rate was 19.5 percentage point higher than the region’s rate of 2.9% during the same timeframe last year. The labor force was 1,359,481 down 28,446 (-2.0) over the year. There were 304,757 unemployed residents in the region.
